Marco Marco, the designer who's created over-the-top stage outfits for Britney Spears, Iggy Azalea and Jennifer Lopez, presented his bombastic Spring/Summer 2015 collection in a neon cathedral in Los Angeles earlier this month. The show followed in the glitzy heels of last year's presentation that took over the interwebs with its ingenious idea of using some of the most famous drag stars in the universe (or at least the West Hollywood nightclub circuit) as runway models.
Looking to build on the hype, Marco dragged even more gender-benders to the runway, including venerable RuPaul's Drag Race alum Raja, Raven, Manila Luzon, Alyssa Edwards, Sharon Needles, Willam Belli and Detox, along with popular Drag Race newcomers, Milk, April Carrion and Trinity K. Bonet.
Notably absent were Drag Race season 6 runners-up Courtney Act and Adore Delano, who've only become even more famous since they strutted the Marco Marco runway last year. It's also safe to say that this marks the beginning of trans model Yasmin Petty snatching Carmen Carrera's spot from the limelight. Of course, the show wouldn't be this level of gender-bender glam without the one and only Mathu Andersen. More eye candy was sprinkled in the form of too-pretty-to-function male models... but no one's here for them.
This year's runway show has become the cornerstone of Marco Marco's new World of Wonder web series. Watch the full runway show above and compare it to last year's. Did it live up to the hype?
